Watermelon Version 1.0

This was my original version of my watermelon-themed outfit from Fruits Week. It's just been languishing in my Flikr account for a while, but you can never have too much watermelon.

Tank: Mommed

Skirt: Gap, thrifted and shortened

Trouser socks: Payless

Boots: Rocket Dog

Purse: Payless

I like to think that I look cute in these pictures (lol) but in reality I hate this skirt because it's cut in a way that tends to look gunty when I have extra weight on like right now. Also, my boots are annoying because the soles are made of foam so they're always leaving black stuff everywhere I walk in them. I'm thinking that maybe I'll take them to some shoe repair shop and get them lined with rubber or something. Or I'll glue tires on the bottoms. Kidding. (sort of) I really like them so I'm not ready to give them up just yet!

Fruits Week Day 2: Watermelon

I think I forgot to link this yesterday, I'm participating in Fruits Week over at Megan Mae Daily. Day two is for the colour palette inspired by watermelon. I just ate some, so now I can post some! To be honest, these tights only lasted as long as the first time I had to pee. I stripped them off and left them in a sweaty heap in the corner of my bathroom.

Tank: Mom'ed (Faded Glory I think? Is that American Walmart?)

Shorts: Joe

Tights: Zellers

Trouser Socks: Payless

Boots: Rocket Dog

Lipstick: Maybeline Coral Crush

I despise shorts for the stark reality that finding a pair that fits and doesn't look weird (because to me these are all kinds of wrong) or feel weird (they feel weird, too) is way too hard for a thick person. Yet, I've worn these twice this week because they're pink. Not just pink, but PINK! I'm pretty sure my thong was hanging out the back all day, which is especially wrong because I took my son to have his picture taken for the newspaper in an art gallery with bunch of old people. He won a writing award, btw. Braggy parenting moment. :) Usually when I'm going to an event of that nature I wear a dress and cover my tattoos, but there was no time for that today. Notice the curly mop head! But this is me, imperfectly perfect and not going to change.
