Self-Made

I made this scarf myself, and I've been thinking of doing a DIY but I can't remember where I first saw the idea. I remember that it was on someone's blog who had linked to a different blog where they first saw this done. Is that vague enough for you?

Scarf: Self made

Shoes: Payless

Everything else: Old Navy

I got a hematoma (I warn you, never google images of this word!) on my hip at roller derby practice on Sunday so I haven't been able to actually wear pants since then. Really, who needs pants anyway? I only wear clothes if I'm going to be leaving the house and that's why I make people call before they come over! The swelling has gone down dramatically as of last night so I should be able to get dressed again soon. It helps that it's been raining constantly for days now, I kind of feel like staying in bed all day again.

Sad Clown Faces

The sky was overcast and misty, and I was waiting in vain for my dad to come home to relieve me of my parental duties so that I could go to a special and hella cool roller derby practice in which a league was visiting whose name is ONE LETTER DIFFERENT than my real name. Seriously, how cool is that?! He didn't make it because of the effing mofo'in pinche Toronto rush hour traffic on easter weekend and the fact that we live in cottage country which is where everyone and their dog (literally) wanted to be at the same time. So I'm making sad pouty clown faces like a spoiled princess who didn't get her way.

Day 8: Nothing is Black!

Everything I learned about mixing stripes and plaids, I learned from watching "Don't Tell Mom, The Babysitter's Dead".

I'm just goofing around... I don't really meditate like this.  See me trying not to smirk?

I feel like congratulating myself once again, there is nothing black about this outfit at all!  And!  I live in Canada and for some reason it was warm enough to go outside in this today without a coat!

Hat: Gap

Sweater, scarf:  Stitches

Tuxedo shirt that you can't really see:  Old Navy

Jeans:  Joe

Boots:  Doc Martens

Rings:  Gifted

Brooch:  Lol.  It was attached to some chocolate-covered coffee beans from Timothy's Coffee last Christmas.  But it's shiny!

30 For 30: Day 2

This is my second attempt at this 30 for 30 Challenge.  I've had a nasty cold for the past week so what better to brighten my mood than a Joey Jeremiah fedora?  A friend once looked over my outfit once and exclaimed, "Where would you wear something like that?!"  Oh, the joys of a small town, where even wearing coloured tights is considered suspect!

So where did I wear a fedora in Elvistown, population 1800?  The post office, the grocery store, the kids' karate class, the nursing home, then home for a quick change into my roller derby attire before making the trek to practice.  I didn't notice if anyone stared, but at least no one asked me why I was wearing this.  Progress?

Nerd Alert!  ;)

Navy shirt:  Old Navy; white tank:  Calvin Klein; grey skirt, Old Navy; stirrup tights:  DKNY; boots:  Doc Martens; fedora:  pilfered from my son.  You'll notice that only the fedora is black!  That just might make me want to wear an all-black ensemble tomorrow.  We shall see.

*p.s.  Did anyone else notice that I look like a giant?  I'm not really a giraffe, I swear.
