Shoe of the Month: Grey Slouch Boots

Because, why not? Shoes are girls' best friends, not diamonds. I've seen other bloggers do a Shoe of the Week feature, but we all know that I'm not reliable like that. So for March I thought I'd start with something simple.

I had been looking for a grey suede slouch boot which was flat but with buckles, for a long time. The only perfects ones I'd found were from Fiorentini + Baker, and let's face it I don't have a blessed job, much less the bank to fund such an extravagance. I searched in vain for months, and it was making me crazy. When I have my mind set on something I can become... slightly obsessed.

One day the perfect flat grey slouch boots with buckles showed up on my doorstep: on my cousin's feet! She told me she bought them at Walmart, and for less then thirty dollars! They're made of fake suede, but that's better for me because it's far easier to take care of than real suede and it's also vegan friendly which is cool seeing as how two of my friends started their own vegan cult and have recruited young children to their cause. (I'm kidding! For reals!) For that price, I can wear them around in wet or mucky weather, I can abuse them, I can neglect them and it's all good.

Another thing which I realise is actually quite ridiculous, however: I fit into the 8.5 and didn't have to go for 9. Vanity: Score! Do all tall people with giant feet have the same problem as me? Discuss below. They're a little too wide in the calf (to accommodate the calf-size of a Wal-mart shopper? I am sooooo pretentious!) but they don't fall down like some of my other boots do and it's easier to fit the skinny jeans inside without having to jam them in while cursing.

Boot: Walmart!

Normally I'm stuck-up and won't buy anything if someone I know has the same thing, but that's just nonsense! When the boots you've been looking for are staring you right in the face, you'd be a fool not to grab them while you can. Shoe shopping applies to life.

That's all,

Twills

XOXO
