Summer Trends Week, Day 1.2: Stripes and Florals

This is what I'd originally intended to post on Day 1 of this challenge. My sister had just given me this skirt for my birthday. It's intended for use when I'm refereeing he at roller derby but I thought I'd wear it anyway even though it's scandalously short, even for me! I've kind of gone the naughty school girl route with this with the maryjane wedges, though unintentionally.

Shirt: Old Navy

Belt: George

Skirt: Decypher Clothing

Shoes: Guess

Bracelet: Zellers

Owl Ring: Aldo

Barettes: Goody

I like to joke that "everything I know about pattern mixing I learned from 'Don't Tell Mom, the Babysitter's Dead'", and it's true. Keeping the colourways the same, though with black and white I'm sure I could mix them.

That's all,

Twills

XOXO

  1. Fab mix! Seriously cool. Maybe find a fullish black skirt/fun slip to wear under it? Skirt layering can really make a difference when it comes to shorty skirts.

Can't wait to see your Fryes!

  2. I've been looking into pettipants so I can stop flashing people but my ultimate find would be a black tulle skirt that I can also wear for derby. I'm still looking, though I've seen *almost* the right one at American Apparel even though I try not to shop there for various reasons.
